Tyler Brooks, a Retired Marine and founder of Brooks Security Group, leads a veteran-owned private security company dedicated to protecting schools and creating safer learning environments.

For Tyler, school safety is more than a profession—it is a lifelong mission. On March 5, 2001, while he was in high school, his campus experienced a school shooting. Living through that tragedy instilled in him a deep understanding of how critical preparedness, training, and security truly are. That day became the driving force behind his career and his commitment to ensuring that no student, teacher, or family has to experience the same fear and uncertainty.

After his military service, Tyler established Brooks Security Group with a clear purpose: to provide schools with specialized safety programs, professional protection officers, and advanced training designed to prevent and respond to active threats. Under his leadership, the company has become a trusted partner for schools across Texas, offering services such as comprehensive audits, risk assessments, and certified training through the Texas School Safety (Guardian) Program.

To maintain the highest level of readiness, Tyler requires his team to regularly attend ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) courses—specialized instruction typically reserved for law enforcement officers. This ongoing training ensures that every Brooks Security Group team member working on a school campus is fully prepared to respond effectively in the event of an active threat, and able to support both the school and responding agencies seamlessly.

Tyler and his team are licensed through the Texas Department of Public Safety and continue to expand their expertise through advanced training opportunities, further strengthening their ability to serve schools with professionalism and care.
